Kelli Hallas, Executive Vice President Reimbursement Services

Kelli Hallas joined Emerson Consultants in 2004 as Vice President of Reimbursement Services. She focuses on developing and implementing strategic initiatives to remove reimbursement obstacles and drive business at all stakeholder levels.

Kelli is a tenured professional, with 20 years of medical technology experience in the areas of sales, marketing, and reimbursement with industry leading companies including U.S. Surgical Corporation, Ethicon Endo-Surgery, and Indigo Medical. She has experience providing a wide range of services to hospitals, physicians, payers, and medical technology companies.

In her position at Emerson Consultants, Kelli collaborates with clients to develop and integrate reimbursement and marketing initiatives into an overall strategic plan to achieve company milestones. Her expertise includes IDE clinical trial reimbursement, financial modeling tools for products and procedures, healthcare policy, and CMS and AHRQ focused initiatives. She provides customized reimbursement training for sales and marketing teams enabling them to understand and integrate reimbursement knowledge into the sales cycle.

Kelli has secured several new ICD-9 procedure codes for emerging procedures, successfully obtained pass through status for new technologies and biologics, partnered with professional societies for the implementation of CPT® codes, and worked with local and national payers to implement coverage decisions.

Kelli holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, IN and a Certificate from the University of St Thomas MBA Program in Health Care Management, St. Thomas University, St. Paul, MN. She has been a featured presenter at industry programs and education events and is a contributing writer in several industry-related publications. She has published Fundamentals of Reimbursement, a reference guide on how reimbursement impacts sales in today’s healthcare marketplace.
